Egypt's Elsewedy Industrial Developments, a subsidiary of Elsewedy Electric, has signed on Thursday a $100 million agreement with Turkish textile giant Bony to establish a fully integrated high-quality textile factory in the "Industria El Asher" project in 10th of Ramadan City. The factory will be built on a 120,000-square-metre plot and operate as a private free zone, with production expected to begin by the end of 2026. The project is set to create around 2,500 direct and indirect jobs and aims to boost Egyptian exports to European and African markets. During the signing, GAFI CEO Hossam Heiba said the government is working to meet rising investment demand in labour-intensive sectors like textiles and garments. He highlighted ongoing coordination with industrial developers to expand and equip industrial zones in 10th of Ramadan, Sadat, Suez, and Minya to support the influx of new projects.
