The Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) announced Tuesday an extension of working hours at selected bank branches to enhance public service. Starting July 8, certain branches will remain open until 5:00 PM CLT, up from the previous closing time of 3:00 PM, based on geographic location and the discretion of each bank. This change applies to official working days, Sunday through Thursday, and will remain in effect until further notice. The extension aims to provide greater convenience to customers and improve access to banking services. The CBE outlined specific schedules for branches located in shopping malls, clubs, and hotels: * Shopping Mall Branches: Open from 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM, offering full banking services throughout the week, including Friday and Saturday. * Street-Facing Mall Branches: Operating until 5:00 PM on working days (Sunday to Thursday). * Club Branches: Open until 8:00 PM seven days a week to serve club members, including Friday and Saturday. * Street-Facing Club Branches: Operating until 5:00 PM on working days (Sunday to Thursday). * Hotel Branches: Open until 5:00 PM, with full services throughout the week. Currency exchange will be available from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM if requested by the bank. * Street-Facing Hotel Branches: Operating until 5:00 PM on working days (Sunday to Thursday), with currency exchange services available later as per standard hours. The move is part of the CBE's ongoing efforts to improve banking accessibility and support the public's financial needs. Attribution: Amwal Al Ghad English
