The parties also emphasised the importance of resuming diplomatic negotiations to reach a sustainable settlement on Iran's nuclear programme, in a manner that addresses concerns through peaceful means and reduces regional tensions. The officials commended Egypt's ongoing efforts to de-escalate the situation and its role in bridging views and fostering common ground. These efforts aim to meet the interests of all sides and support regional peace and stability at this critical juncture. In a separate call, Abdel-Aty discussed with US envoy Whitkoff the latest developments in Gaza ceasefire negotiations, including issues related to hostages, prisoners, and full humanitarian access to the Strip. The two sides also discussed preparations for indirect talks between the parties concerned to reach a deal. Abdel-Aty briefed Whitkoff on Egypt's ongoing preparations to host an international conference on early recovery and reconstruction in Gaza following the establishment of a ceasefire. Whitkoff praised Egypt's continued role in facilitating a Gaza truce and its constructive efforts to support regional stability. Attribution: Amwal Al Ghad English Subediting: M. S. Salama
