Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdel-Aty held separate phone calls on Sunday with Omani Foreign Minister Badr Al-Busaidi and Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi to discuss regional developments, particularly the fourth round of indirect negotiations between the United States and Iran on Tehran's nuclear programme. The talks, hosted in Muscat the previous day, provided an opportunity for Abdel-Aty to be briefed on the latest developments between the two sides. Abdel-Aty commended the commitment of both the US and Iran to the diplomatic track, and the ongoing mediation efforts led by Oman. He reiterated Egypt's full support for initiatives aimed at reaching peaceful solutions through dialogue and diplomatic channels. He expressed hope that the negotiations would help bridge differences, reduce tensions, and contribute to regional stability and security. In a related context, Abdel-Aty also exchanged views with US Presidential Envoy to the Middle East Steve Whitkoff regarding the Iran-US negotiations, and the latest developments in both Gaza and Ukraine.
