Egypt Healthcare Authority (EHA) announced the launch of paediatric physiotherapy and motor rehabilitation services at primary healthcare units in the governorates of Port Said, Ismailia, and Aswan, with services to be introduced soon in Luxor. The move is part of the country's ongoing expansion of services under the Universal Health Insurance System. EHA Chairman Ahmed El Sobky said the new services include rehabilitation for children with cerebral palsy, brachial plexus injuries, spinal deformities, post-surgical recovery (orthopaedic and neurological), and sports-related injuries. El Sobky highlighted that providing the service closer to citizens' homes is expected to ease the strain on hospitals and reduce travel burdens for families. He noted that, with primary healthcare units delivering over 80 per cent of medical services, this expansion is intended to improve operational efficiency and public access. The new service is equipped with advanced paediatric physiotherapy equipment to help children regain muscle strength and natural movement patterns, under the supervision of highly trained medical professionals.
