Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdel-Aty praised ongoing cooperation between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade, stressing its importance in supporting Egypt's economic development. He highlighted the crucial role played by Egyptian embassies abroad in advancing national economic and trade objectives through attracting foreign direct investment and opening global markets for Egyptian exports and businesses. During a meeting with Investment and Foreign Trade Minister Hassan El Khatib, Abdel-Aty underscored the need for alignment between Egypt's foreign policy and economic strategies to boost the country's regional and international standing. He also pointed to efforts to upgrade the operations of Egyptian diplomatic missions to better reflect the country's development vision and enhance coordination with the investment ministry. For his part, El Khatib outlined Egypt's ongoing reforms aimed at strengthening the economy and achieving development goals. He noted that the government's economic reform programme had laid the foundations for a more competitive and stable investment climate, leading to higher growth rates, improved foreign investment indicators, and greater international confidence in the Egyptian economy. El Khatib added that the national economic strategy rests on several pillars: a monetary policy focused on curbing inflation, adopting a flexible exchange rate, and promoting exports; a fiscal policy that includes competitive tax rates and faster customs clearance; and a trade policy aimed at liberalising trade and reducing the trade deficit.
