Egypt has attracted more than $15.6 billion in concessional financing for its private sector since 2020, Minister of Planning Rania El-Mashat said on Tuesday during the UN's Fourth International Conference on Financing for Development (FfD4) in Seville. Speaking at a high-level roundtable with institutions from the Arab Coordination Group (ACG), Minister El-Mashat underscored Cairo's push to mobilise development finance and boost private investment through initiatives such as the Hafiz platform, launched in 2023. She reiterated Egypt's commitment to the green transition under its flagship NWFE programme and called for deeper cooperation with development partners to drive sustainable growth. Amid rising global economic pressures, Minister El-Mashat stressed the need for a reformed international financial architecture and stronger structural reforms to enhance competitiveness and unlock private sector potential. The role of multilateral coordination and financial innovation is more critical than ever, she added, praising the ACG's support for Egypt's sustainable development agenda.
