Egypt is intensifying efforts to secure strategic reserves of food and fuel as regional instability threatens supply chains, Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly said on Sunday. Chairing a meeting of the Supreme Committee on Market Regulation and Commodity Prices, the prime minister said the government is working to safeguard commodity availability, curb price volatility, and crack down on monopolistic practices. "Our priority is to ensure a sustainable supply of essential goods, strengthen strategic stockpiles, and guarantee fuel security," Prime Minister Madbouly said, citing the "exceptional circumstances" facing the region. The meeting brought together key ministers overseeing industry, transport, supply, agriculture, and finance, along with regulators and private sector representatives.
