Egyptian Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly on Wednesday instructed government agencies to ensure full preparedness ahead of the Eid al-Adha holiday, including uninterrupted public services, sufficient commodity supply, and tight market oversight across the country. During the weekly Cabinet meeting, Prime Minister Madbouly urged authorities in all governorates to take necessary measures to accommodate holiday crowds at parks, tourist sites, and heritage areas, while ensuring continued operation of essential services. He also emphasised the need to keep fixed and mobile retail outlets running, particularly the One-Day Market Initiative, and expand their coverage to underserved areas. The prime minister called for inspection teams to intensify oversight of shops and markets to ensure availability and fair pricing of essential goods. Prime Minister Madbouly directed the ministers of supply, agriculture, and petroleum, as well as provincial governors, to secure strategic food stocks and fuel supplies—especially in coastal regions—throughout the holiday period.
