Egypt's Food Export Council (FEC) has signed a strategic partnership with Commercial International Bank (CIB) that will see the lender serve as the council's official banking partner through 2027, the FEC said on Monday. The agreement, signed on June 15 at CIB's headquarters, aims to bolster Egyptian food exports and support sector growth. Under the deal, CIB will sponsor a new digital platform for FEC member registration, linked to its banking systems to streamline access to financial services for exporters. The partnership comes as Egypt's food industry posted a 21 per cent rise in exports in 2024 to $6.1 billion, according to the council. Founded in 1995, the FEC supports more than 650 Egyptian exporters through trade missions, international exhibitions, and training, while working with public and private partners to overcome export hurdles.
