Egypt's Minister of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities Sherif El Sherbiny held a meeting with the European Investment Bank (EIB) Vice President Gelsomina Vigliotti to review ongoing cooperation in drinking water and sanitation projects and explore future collaboration. The meeting highlighted progress on the preparatory technical support project for sludge management, currently managed by the ministry's Project Management Unit (PMU). Funded by a €2 million grant, the project aims to protect public health, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, support climate action, and enhance the agricultural sector through the safe and efficient reuse of treated sludge. El Sherbiny praised the strong partnership between the ministry and the EIB, noting that the portfolio of ongoing projects under their cooperation has reached €700 million. Vigliotti expressed the bank's interest in expanding its support for projects aligned with the ministry's strategic plans in the coming period. Attribution: Amwal Al Ghad English Subediting: M. S.
