Egypt's Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly on Sunday toured the facilities of Magrabi Agriculture (MAFA) in Beheira Governorate to review development and service projects in the region. MAFA exports 153,000 tons of produce annually to 70 countries—including EU, East Asia, and the US, supporting Egypt's foreign currency reserves and agricultural growth. It provides around 7,600 jobs. During the visit, Madbouly inspected individual quick freezing (IQF) plants, cold storage units, biological pest control labs, irrigation systems, and a grape packaging station. Company Chairman Sherif El Maghrabi explained that MAFA cultivates 9,126 feddans across multiple areas and relies on a workforce of 1,600 permanent and 6,000 seasonal workers, including people with disabilities. He also highlighted the localisation of pest control agents, previously imported at a cost of €17 million, and the use of modern technologies to enhance productivity and sustainability. Madbouly praised the company's contribution to export growth, job creation, and the adoption of advanced agricultural practices, stressing that the sector remains central to Egypt's structural reform agenda.
