Khalda Petroleum Company, which operates concessions in Egypt for US Apache Corp, is set to bring two new wells into production this June, with an initial combined output of approximately 5,400 barrels of crude oil per day (bpd), Egypt's Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources announced on Thursday. Fox Deep-02 As per the statement, the company has completed drilling the appraisal well Fox Deep-02, which revealed oil-bearing layers in the Alem El Bueib and Alamein reservoirs, with the oil-bearing layer reaching a thickness of 110 feet. Initial testing on the Alem El Bueib layer showed a production rate of around 2,600 bpd. Technical testing and installation of an artificial lift pump are currently underway in preparation for putting the well into production this month. Tayim-W14 Khalda has also finished drilling the development well Tayim-W14, targeting the Desouky layer at the top of the reservoir. Drilling confirmed an oil-bearing layer with a thickness of 57 feet. Initial testing showed a production rate of nearly 2,800 bpd.
