Volvo Cars reported a 12 per cent year-on-year drop in global sales for May 2025, delivering 59,822 vehicles, the Sweden-based automaker said on Wednesday. The company, majority-owned by China's Geely, saw sales of fully electric vehicles fall 27 per cent, making up 21 per cent of total sales. Sales of electrified models, including plug-in hybrids, dropped 20 per cent and accounted for 44 per cent of total volumes. The decline comes amid broader signs of cooling demand in the electric vehicle segment across global markets. Attribution: Reuters Subediting: M. S. Salama
