A team representing Egypt's petroleum sector clinched first place at the BRICS+ League of Young Professionals of the CASE-IN® Championship, held in Moscow from May 26 to 31, with a pioneering project for smart biogas production units powered by artificial intelligence. Competing under the theme Technological Innovations, the Egyptian team outperformed rivals from Russia, China, South Africa, and Iran. The annual championship is supported by Russia's Ministry of Energy and aims to tackle real-world energy challenges through innovative engineering solutions and case studies. The winning project proposed an integrated, AI-enhanced system for producing biogas from organic waste, offering a sustainable and efficient energy alternative. In addition to the top prize, the Egyptian team also secured the Best Innovative Idea Award, voted on by fellow participants. The victory highlights the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources' efforts to empower young professionals in the sector and promote Egypt's presence in global innovation forums. "This achievement reflects our commitment to developing talent and fostering international collaboration in cutting-edge energy technologies," the ministry said in a statement on Sunday.
