Egypt's Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade Hassan El-Khatib has met in the United Arab Emirates with Abu Dhabi Aviation Group Chairman Mahmoud Alhameli to explore potential cooperation in aviation, shipping, maintenance, training, and air transport services. The meeting also covered the group's capabilities in expanding into African markets to meet growing demand across the region, an official statement revealed. He reviewed Egypt's airports development plans, emphasising that a specialised firm is conducting a study to enhance airport infrastructure. He also highlighted investment opportunities via Egypt's sovereign wealth fund, especially in real estate. The minister underlined the government's ongoing financial, monetary, and trade reforms aimed at facilitating investment, easing trade procedures, and improving the business climate for investors. El-Khatib further stressed Egypt's competitive advantages, including a large skilled labour force, favourable wage structure, sizeable domestic market, and strategic geographic location. Egypt's wide network of free and preferential trade agreements also grants investors access to key regional and global markets, he said. Additionally, the discussion touched on the group's activities in real estate investment, asset management, and multi-asset investments across equities and bonds, as per the statement.
