Aton Resources has announced new gold discoveries from its diamond drilling programme at the Abu Marawat deposit in Egypt's Eastern Desert, confirming high-grade mineralisation near the surface. The Canadian-listed firm has so far completed 95 diamond drill holes totalling 7,917 metres, with the latest batch of 21 holes (AMD-146 to AMD-166) yielding notable gold grades. Key intersections include: * 8.52 grams per ton (g/t) of gold over 15.40 metres (hole AMD-151); * 6.06 g/t over 17.30 metres (hole AMD-146); * 4.14 g/t over 13.90 metres (hole AMD-149); * 3.07 g/t over 16.50 metres (hole AMD-148). Aton said the drilling confirms the presence of a significant near-surface gold zone along the Central Vein zone (CVZ). The company also reported lower-grade mineralisation at the southern extent of the structure, with hole AMD-165 returning 0.69 g/t over 23.90 metres. The Abu Marawat deposit currently hosts an inferred mineral resource of 162,000 ounces of gold, based on 2.9 million tons at an average grade of 1.75 g/t, according to a technical report prepared in compliance with Canada's National Instrument 43-101.
