Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi has stressed the need to expand private sector participation in agriculture and unlock the development potential of unused land, particularly in Upper Egypt, Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly said on Wednesday. Speaking during the Cabinet's weekly meeting, Prime Minister Madbouly said the president's remarks came during a visit earlier in the day to the launch of the Future of Egypt Industrial City and the national harvest season in Giza. The president highlighted key challenges to land reclamation, including infrastructure demands, energy needs, and connectivity, he said. He added that the government would step up efforts to provide incentives and eliminate obstacles facing agriculture and industry. "The president emphasised making full use of available land, especially in governorates that have seen limited investment and services," Prime Minister Madbouly told ministers. "The government is committed to maximising land use for productive projects and driving development across all regions." The Cabinet meeting, held at the New Administrative Capital, also reaffirmed government plans to attract private investment and expand services in underserved areas.
