Egypt's President Abdel Fattah El Sisi has stressed the need for pre-emptive measures to ensure electricity supply stability and maintain the national power network across Egypt. In a meeting with senior government officials, Sisi reviewed oil and gas contracts, efforts to boost local production, and ongoing seismic surveys and exploration plans. He also discussed international companies' operations in Egypt and regional cooperation in the energy sector. The President called for intensified efforts to settle dues owed to foreign energy firms. Addressing the issue of substandard petrol, Sisi urged accountability and measures to prevent recurrence. The meeting also covered mining sector reforms, including amendments to the Mineral Resources Authority Law, aimed at streamlining licensing and attracting global investors. The President underlined the importance of expanding local oil and gas production to meet development needs, reduce imports, and increase revenue. He called for accelerating the development of newly discovered wells, intensifying exploration, and offering incentives to fast-track production.
