Egypt's Health Minister Khaled Abdel Ghaffar met with Malaysian Health Minister Dzulkefly Ahmad and Moroccan Health and Social Protection Minister Amine Tahraoui to enhance collaboration in healthcare services development. The meetings, held on the sidelines of the 78th session of the World Health Assembly in Geneva, focused on improving collaboration in healthcare services, medical training, research, and strategic planning, as per a Cabinet statement. Discussions also focused on cooperation in key public health areas such as infectious disease prevention, antimicrobial resistance, and potential collaboration in digital health and telemedicine, according to the statement. The meetings involved discussing investment opportunities and enhancing public-private partnerships. The parties also explored joint programmes to build healthcare worker capacities, the statement added. Both meetings discussed collaboration in medicine and vaccine production, achieving self-sufficiency, and exploring partnerships in medical devices, digital health systems, hospital management, universal health coverage, medical education, and clinical research.
