Egypt's Minister of Health and Population, Khaled Abdel Ghaffar met with Panama's Ambassador to Egypt, Ricardo Isaza on Tuesday to strengthen collaboration in public health, pharmaceutical manufacturing, and medical exports. The discussions focused on Egypt's potential role in supplying medicines and medical equipment to Panama, as well as sharing expertise in establishing pharmaceutical factories. Advancing digital health solutions, including electronic medical records, telemedicine, and artificial intelligence, was also a key topic. Both sides explored joint efforts in tackling infectious diseases such as HIV and hepatitis, alongside public health initiatives like hepatitis C eradication, vaccination programmes, and the prevention of non-communicable diseases such as cardiovascular conditions and cancer.
