Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) Governor Hassan Abdalla said on Wednesday that developing human capital remains central to the country's banking reform strategy, describing it as "the cornerstone of the sector's future growth and prosperity." Speaking at the Egyptian Banking Institute's (EBI) Future Leaders graduation ceremony, Abdalla said the central bank has intensified efforts to nurture a new generation of banking professionals through a series of educational and training programs. He highlighted the launch of the Bachelor of Banking Sciences Programme — the first undergraduate degree of its kind in Egypt — which will be offered at several commerce faculties starting in the 2025/26 academic year. The programme is designed to align academic training with market needs and global standards. The governor praised the EBI's efforts in adapting its curriculum to rapid changes in financial technology and global banking practices. The institute's Future Leaders Programme, now in its 35th cohort, continues to serve as a key pipeline for leadership talent across Egypt's financial institutions. Attribution: Amwal Al Ghad English
