Egypt is following with deep concern the ongoing developments in Libya and the military clashes currently taking place in the capital Tripoli, which may lead to open escalation and pose a threat to the lives and resources of the Libyan people, the Foreign Ministry said in a statement. The ministry urged all Egyptian nationals in Libya to exercise the highest levels of caution, remain in their homes until calm and stability are restored, and contact the Egyptian Embassy in Tripoli in case of any incidents affecting them. Egypt also called on all Libyan parties to prioritise national interests, end the ongoing escalation, and resort to reason in order to safeguard Libya's resources and stability.
