Egypt's Ministry of Supply and Internal Trade has launched a nationwide campaign to tighten oversight of fuel stations and butane gas depots, aiming to prevent manipulation in the distribution of subsidised petroleum products. Minister Shereef Farouk said the ministry is conducting surprise daily inspections and collecting random samples of petrol and diesel to verify compliance with technical standards. He stressed that legal action will be taken immediately against any violations, with cases referred to the Public Prosecution. Farouk also urged citizens to report suspected irregularities, highlighting the government's commitment to protecting public funds and ensuring product quality through a transparent and fair distribution system.
