Egypt's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Health and Population Khaled Abdel Ghaffar held a meeting with the Chairman of the National Food Safety Authority (NFSA) Tarek El Houby to discuss mechanisms and regulations for monitoring food products and related facilities, as per a Cabinet statement. During the meeting, the minister reaffirmed the urgency of implementing President Abdel Fattah El Sisi's directives to address issues of public concern and take corrective actions to protect citizens' health. Abdel Ghaffar stressed the continued coordination between the Ministry of Health and NFSA in conducting nationwide inspection campaigns targeting food distribution outlets to ensure compliance with health and safety standards. The discussion also addressed necessary amendments and stricter enforcement of food safety regulations. Abdel Ghaffar instructed the resumption of operations at food chain branches previously shut down—once verified to be in full compliance with NFSA's health standards and other relevant regulatory requirements.
