Egypt, China firm partner to locally produce MRI, X-ray devices

The Arab African Company for Medical Industries (AACMI), a subsidiary of the Arab Organisation of industrialisation (AOI), signed a cooperation agreement with the Chinese company XINGAOYI MEDICAL EQUIPMENT CO. LTD. (XGY), certified with European quality standards, for the local manufacture of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), X-ray, and Computed Tomography (CT) scan devices for the first time in Egypt.
The cooperation includes the supply and installation of a 2025-model XGY OPER-0.35T MRI machine at AOI's hospital, along with specialised training programmes for engineers and technicians and the provision of maintenance services and spare parts.
AOI Chairman Mokhtar Abdel Latif emphasised the organisation's commitment to strategic partnerships, noting that cooperation with XGY will help meet domestic demand, reduce import reliance, and open export opportunities to regional and African markets.
