Spain could suffer economic losses of up to €1 billion following Monday's widespread blackout, according to estimates cited by local newspaper The Objective as cited by TASS. The outage forced businesses to halt operations, significantly impacting daily output. Analysts noted that Spain's daily GDP exceeds €4 billion, with the industrial sector contributing about €575 million and services around €500 million. The disruption is expected to weigh heavily on second-quarter economic performance. Spanish grid operator Red Eléctrica said 99.16 per cent of power had been restored. The blackout, which also affected Portugal, Andorra and parts of southern France, left millions without electricity for hours on April 28. Attribution: TASS Subediting: Y.Yasser
