Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdel-Aty reaffirmed Egypt's full commitment to supporting the unity and territorial integrity of Somalia, along with its national institutions and efforts to achieve security and stability. He underscored the significance of Somalia's stability for peace and security in the Horn of Africa. In a phone call on Monday with Somalia's new Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Abdelsalam Abdi Ali, Abdel-Aty reiterated Egypt's solidarity with Somalia in combating terrorism and extremism during this critical period. He stressed Egypt's commitment to providing all forms of support in counterterrorism efforts. The two ministers discussed ways to enhance bilateral coordination to promote stability and development in the Horn of Africa. They emphasised the need for continued close consultation in regional and international fora to address shared challenges. Minister Ali expressed appreciation for Egypt's consistent support, praising its participation in the African Union Transition Mission in Somalia at the request of the Somali federal government.
