He stressed the need for intensified regional and international efforts to address security challenges in the region. During a call on Tuesday evening, Abdel Aty discussed Weber's recent visit to Port Sudan and reiterated Egypt's stance on preserving Sudan's unity, sovereignty, and territorial integrity. He expressed hope for de-escalation and the restoration of security and stability in Sudan. The two officials also exchanged views on security and political challenges in the Horn of Africa. Abdel Aty underscored the importance of supporting Somalia's stability and respecting its sovereignty and territorial integrity, reaffirming Egypt's commitment to backing Somali state institutions.
