During his meeting with Hungarian Parliament Speaker László Kövér in Cairo on Sunday, President Sisi praised Hungary's support for Egypt within various European Union institutions, noting the continuous understanding and coordination between the leaderships of both countries, based on mutual respect and common interests. The president also reviewed Egypt's efforts to achieve a ceasefire in Gaza, stressing the need to intensify efforts to resume the ceasefire agreement, exchange hostages, and ensure sufficient humanitarian aid for the Palestinian people facing dire conditions. For his part, Kövér expressed Hungary's appreciation for Egypt's crucial role in regional security and stability, underscoring the importance of enhancing cooperation between Hungary and Egypt, both bilaterally and within the European Union context. He also commended Egypt's pivotal role in addressing regional issues impacting European security, particularly efforts to restore calm in the region, prevent the escalation of conflict, and combat illegal immigration and terrorism.
