Budapest - Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi had a meeting, on Monday, with László Kövér, the speaker of the Hungarian parliament, during his current visit to Hungary. Welcoming the president, Kövér highlighted the deeply-rooted relations binding the Egyptian and Hungarian peoples, Presidential Spokesman Alaa Youssef said. He also hailed a breakthrough in bilateral relations in the past two years that witnessed an exchange of visits at several levels, referring especially to the visit of the Egyptian parliament speaker to Hungary, according to the spokesman. Kövér affirmed his country's keenness on supporting Egypt in its efforts to achieve comprehensive development and stabilize democracy. Hungary is also ready to enhance partnership with Egypt in the various domains, especially the parliamentary ones, following the establishment of a joint parliamentary friendship committee in November 2016. President Sisi highlighted distinguished relations maintained by both countries and welcomed a planned visit by Kövér to Egypt in November, the spokesman said. The meeting addressed developments in Egypt and the Middle East as well as Egypt's vision on terrorism-combat, he added.
