Egypt's Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation Alaa Farouk and New Valley Governor Mohamed El-Zamlout met on Sunday with Saudi Arabia's Prince Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud to discuss opportunities for investment and agro-industrial development in the New Valley governorate, as per a Cabinet statement. The meeting explored a range of promising investment ideas in land reclamation, modern irrigation systems, and the cultivation of field crops suitable for agro-industrial processing and export. Discussions also focused on enhancing the region's agricultural potential by growing strategic crops with high economic returns. Minister Farouk also highlighted the possibility of collaboration with the Future of Egypt Authority for Sustainable Development. Governor El-Zamlout noted that the meeting reviewed proposals to optimise the value of locally grown crops through food processing and export, supported by the governorate's comparative advantages and commitment to modern water-saving irrigation technologies.
