The Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) welcomed a delegation from the Central Bank of West African States (BCEAO) to share Egypt's expertise in establishing its state-of-the-art Banknote Printing House in the New Administrative Capital. Recognised as one of the most advanced printing facilities in the Middle East and Africa, the facility serves as a model for high-quality, secure currency production. The BCEAO delegation's visit aimed to glean insights into the establishment and operation of Egypt's new banknote printing house. The BCEAO is exploring the possibility of establishing its own national printing house and sought to leverage Egypt's expertise. During their tour, the delegation was given a comprehensive overview of the entire banknote production process, from initial design to final delivery at the Cash Centre. They were particularly impressed by the facility's impressive production capacity, which enables it to meet Egypt's domestic needs and potentially serve other nations in the region. Advanced Technology: The delegation witnessed the cutting-edge technologies employed in the printing house, including sophisticated security features designed to prevent counterfeiting. Rigorous Quality Control: They were briefed on the meticulous quality control measures implemented at every stage of production, including comprehensive banknote testing protocols. Research and Development: The delegation learned about the ongoing Research and Development (R&D) system, which drives continuous improvement in product quality, production efficiency, and currency circulation. The BCEAO delegation's visit, their second in less than two years following their participation in the 2023 African Currency Forum hosted by Egypt, further solidifies the printing house's reputation as a world-class facility.
