Arab solidarity crucial for brighter future
Published in Amwal Al Ghad on 01 - 02 - 2025

Nobody can argue that the globe has entered a dangerous period of political and economic turmoil. Unfortunately, these disturbances coincide with an extraordinary increase in catastrophic natural disasters, putting enormous pressure on humanity's present and future.
Anyone who pays careful attention to world events can see that we are on the approach of a collision between the United States, the dwindling superpower, and China, the rising force whose expanding might is becoming more obvious.
Serious challenges are now being imposed on governing systems, regardless of their ideologies, as well as on the policies and strategies of governments. An inexplicable state of chaos is sweeping away established norms, as though we are at the dawn of a new eternal struggle for survival – one that is shaping into an intense battle to secure the future of human existence.
Chess rivalry shaping global dynamics
The ultimate chess match between the two competing powers began decades ago, with one power, the United States, facing a fall in global leadership and the other, China, on the verge of taking the reins of world control at any time.
Caught between these two giants are nations striving to remain strong and to capitalise on the bone-crushing conflict unfolding between them. These nations seek to reap benefits that will bolster their political influence and economic standing within their respective regions, while also securing a degree of international leverage in the global system.
There is little question that global Zionist powers are actively influencing this continuing chess match, since their entire survival is threatened if their "host soil" – the United States – collapses. Perhaps consecutive Zionist methods have contributed to the delay in resolving the match in China's favour.
Nations weight
As adversaries conflict, alliances alter, and tasks are redefined to meet the needs of the moment. Nations' weight changes similarly to chess pieces on a board, with their worth growing or lowering depending on the strategic movements that influence the eventual conclusion.
Observers of the larger picture will see that China, as the dominant power, is deliberately avoiding involvement in conflicts that may divert its attention away from domestic matters. Instead, it is doubling down on strict discipline and unwavering hard work to attain scientific and economic growth rates that will allow it to take global leadership without relying on US-controlled developing assets.
Even in science and technology, China today has the instruments necessary to mold the world's competitive future. Its terms may be significantly more favourable than the harsh conditions imposed by the United States on the rest of the globe.
Unlike the US, China does not resort to conflict or brute force to secure its interests. Instead, it favours alliances based on mutual benefit, whether in politics, economics, or development.
Technological breakthrough
Following its recent technological breakthrough, which stunned the world, I anticipate that China will focus on forging new technological partnerships that will revolutionise artificial intelligence, its applications, and its operational costs.
From my perspective, I believe that China's successful establishment of calm and friendly ties with nations across the world will soon allow it to play a more prominent role in global growth. It will most likely make technology and artificial intelligence widely available to many communities through large-scale, grassroots projects.
Undue force harmed US influence
On the opposite side of the board, the United States is still embroiled in multiple international conflicts. In some of these, it has acted with undue force, causing significant harm to mankind while also trampling the same ethics, principles, and ideals that once guaranteed its worldwide supremacy and garnered international respect.
In recent decades, the United States has been entangled in various wars that have harmed its image and worldwide position. Perhaps the most heinous of them has been its violent backing for Israel's slaughter and forced relocation of actual indigenous landowners in Gaza and occupied Palestine.
I'm not here to recount the tumultuous history of the United States' engagement in the Middle East, or its disastrous role in promoting Zionist global ambitions. Nor do I plan to dig into the "malicious practices" that have resulted in the split and collapse of Arab states, dividing their countries into weak, isolated sections – stories so bizarre that even fiction cannot imagine them. These are, quite simply, evil plots that have destroyed millions of lives and erased a whole nation's future, leaving it in dismal sorrow.
Time to awaken from oblivion
However, I return to the final chess battle, as I perceive it. This time, I won't ask the two primary characters to reconsider their actions and decisions. Instead, I'll direct my attention to the chess pieces themselves, urging them to understand the seriousness of the situation. Whether they are sidelined pieces yet to be played or active ones in the match's tactical movements, everyone must understand that no matter how important they are, no player will hesitate to sacrifice them in the pursuit of victory.
I whisper to the chess pieces on the board, "Isn't it time to wake up from this slumber?" Has not the time come for leaders to stop their arrogance and pursuit of personal supremacy at the expense of their people's interests?
The current situation necessitates the implementation of joint policies, collaboration, and a collaborative approach to utilising regional resources. Each country's comparative advantages should be used to construct a stronger, more united system.
Regional alliance
Our only path forward as a region is to operate as a single entity with strong sovereignty and clearly defined objectives that no individual state may surpass. The limitless resources within this vast region must be channelled towards serving the interests of Arab nations, with strategic planning and innovative tactics designed to protect both populations and wealth.
I am confident that by following this road, today's regional leaders will be remembered as heroes who stood up to tyrannical forces aiming to destroy our region's potential, grab its riches, and scatter its people.
Rather than weakly partnering with leading global powers, whether existing or emerging, on an individual basis, why not strive now to form a true Arab regional alliance? This coalition should impose its own demands and negotiation conditions on the globe, ensuring the peace, security, and prosperity of its people while protecting its wealth from irresponsible spending.
The only way to protect the Arab world from the devastation caused by the continuing worldwide chess match is to unify policies, plans, and objectives. It is the first step towards establishing Arab governments as a dominant power in the Middle East, promoting their political, economic, and military objectives.
For example, one immediate result of this actual union would be the saving of trillions of dollars that oil-rich Arab governments are presently spending on guaranteeing protection or consolidating their regional stature. These massive expenditures are primarily motivated by fears about Iran's expansionist intentions, which constitute a severe danger to the whole Arabian Gulf.
I stress that in order to win this last chess match, the two players will use every available resource, alliance, and advanced strategic thinking, as well as the most sophisticated data and result analysis tools.
Simply put, they will do everything at their disposal to win, and as I previously stated, neither will hesitate to sacrifice even their closest comrades for the purpose of gaining one move on their opponent.
Despite all of the obstacles and impending risks that this conflict brings to our area, I am certain that we have the power to protect life and stability. We lack mutual consensus, strong decision-making, and a consistent public posture.
With these precautions in place, no global power would be able to impose an unavoidable political reality or enforce economic penalties. They would realise that, in the face of a powerful regional body, such activities would result in losses they could not bear.
Furthermore, a unified stance would instill confidence, stability, and strength in the region's people, paving the way for a bright future for future generations – one in which they feel secure and assured within a strategically significant region based on high-level political, economic, and military integration.
