Ukraine secures €4.2b EU economic boost

The European Union (EU) has approved a €4.2 billion ($4.4 billion) payment to Ukraine, according to an EU Council statement on Monday.
The funds, part of the EU's Ukraine facility, aim to bolster the country's economy as it continues its defence against Russia.
The payment aligns with the G7's $50 billion loan package for Ukraine, supported by profits from immobilised Russian assets in Western nations. This financial support is critical for sustaining Ukraine's economy amid ongoing conflict.
