Russia considers gasoline export ban renewal

Russia may reinstate a gasoline export ban from August if domestic supply shortages arise, Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak stated on Monday. While the fuel market is currently stable, issues with the popular Ai-95 gasoline grade are being addressed.
The Federal Antimonopoly Agency (FAS) proposed the ban from August 1 to ensure adequate fuel supply during the harvesting season and maintain price stability. Initially, Russia imposed a partial export ban in March, exempting certain countries, including Mongolia. The ban aimed to prevent shortages and rising prices following Ukrainian drone attacks on refineries. It was suspended in May, then extended until the end of July.
