The Bosnian Serb Republic is planning to increase its gas imports from Russia, with the region's leader citing a surge in demand within the industry, according to Reuters citing a local newspaper. Milorad Dodik, as president of the Serb Republic within Bosnia, coexists with the autonomous Bosniak-Croat Federation, both under a central government with limited authority. "We have an industry that is in need of gas supplies," Dodik, who is under US and British sanctions, stated in an interview. "At the same time, gas remains the most stable energy resource, and therefore we intend to increase the volume of gas supplies." He added. Dodik further mentioned the signing of an agreement with Gazprom, a prominent gas producer in Russia, regarding gas supplies until 2025, without providing further details. "Gazprom is a very reliable partner for us, and we are very pleased that it has singled us out as partners in our region," Dodik also told Izvestia
