The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has lowered its forecast for Egypt's real GDP growth to 3.6 percent in 2024, down from the 4.1 percent it forecasted in July, according to the World Economic Outlook (WEO) released a report on Tuesday. Meanwhile, the IMF has raised its expectations for the country's real GDP growth in 2023 to 4.2 percent, up from the 3.7 percent it expected in July, these data released during the annual meetings of the World Bank and the IMF in Marrakesh, Morocco. The report also suggests that unemployment rates in Egypt may drop to 7.1 percent from 7.3 percent in 2021/2022, but are expected to rise again in 2023/2024 to 7.5 percent.
