IHG to develop 3 hotels in Egypt

IHG Hotels & Resorts, the leading hotel company, has signed an agreement with Arabella Group to develop three new hotels in Egypt from the period of 2023 to 2026.
Hotels including InterContinental North Coast Direction White, Voco Cairo Arabella Plaza Cairo, and Crowne Plaza Cairo Arabella Clubhouse, will witness over 500 keys to its Egypt portfolio from IHG.
This will be in response to the increasing demand in the country of luxury resorts and premium hospitality options.The projects are currently under construction and are set to open in remarkable spots in the country.
The Voco Cairo Arabella Plaza is set to open in July 2023, while the Crowne Plaza Cairo Arabella Clubhouse should open in January 2026. The InterContinental North Coast Direction White is set for an opening in September 2026.
"Egypt offers a wealth of opportunity for the hospitality industry today with New Cairo and other attractive, high-end destinations attracting more visitors to the nation," said managing director at IHG for India, Middle East & Africa, Haitham Mattar.
Mattar added "The signing of three new hotels alongside Arabella Group will support the growth we are witnessing in the country by offering new and compelling luxury and premium hospitality experiences to satisfy the most discerning of travelers."
While, Arabella Group president, Mohamed Amin El Dokhmesy, commented by expressing his content for partnering with IHG Hotel & Resorts "to expand the footprint of three of its leading brands"
InterContinental North Coast Direction White will be in Ras El Hekma, a growing luxury resort destinations and a beautiful beachfront along the Egyptian North Coast. It is set to attract local and foreign tourists.
The hotel will have 346 luxurious rooms, with unmatched culinary experiences and five food and beverage outlets. The resort is also set to have a fully equipped 397 sqm. meeting space for the corporate guests and other facilities for the guests to relax including a club lounge, health club, 1,500 sqm., and a swimming pool.
The hotel is a 90-minute drive from Alexandria International Airport, and less than an hour from the new Al-Alamein International Airport.
Voco Cairo Arabella Plaza will be located in New Cairo, Egypt, with accessibility to business parks, shopping centers, universities, and leisure attractions.
The hotel is a 77-key hotel and will house five food and beverage outlets. The hotel will also feature a swimming pool and health club and a meeting space of 427 sqm. for corporate guests.
The hotel is just 20 minutes from Cairo International Airport, and a 35 minute drive to downtown Cairo.
Lastly, Crowne Plaza Cairo Arabella Clubhouse is also located in New Cairo with 146-key, and it will be situated next to the Arabella Compound. It will be close to business parks, leisure attractions, universities, and the Arabella Plaza commercial center.
It will have three food and beverage outlets, a health club, swimming pool, and a spa. It will also include a meeting space and 750 sqm. ballroom for special events.
Like the Voco Cairo Arabella Plaza, the Crowne Plaza is 20 minutes from Cairo International Airport and 35 minute drive to downtown, Cairo.
Guests of the three hotels will have exclusive benefits from IHG One Rewards, the company's loyalty programme, to provide an elevated experience.
These benefits range from suite upgrades and annual lounge memberships to extended check-outs and more services depending on the chosen benefit level.
