Egypt's Mersal Foundation has received funding from UN Women to provide speech therapy sessions for children, its founder Heba Rashed announced on Wednesday. Rashed did not disclose further details about the amount of the funding the foundation has secured. UN Women also will contribute in requiring skills development and family counseling for a number of deaf and hearing-impaired children who have had cochlear implants, according to Rashed's statement. Mersal is a health charity that serves Egyptian and non-Egyptian patients in need on non-discriminatory basis, with strong adherence to the rules of its advanced code of ethics, most prominent of which is protecting patients' privacy. It had established in 2015 and has five branches in Cairo and Alexandria.
