Egypt to be removed from England's red travel list on September 22
Published in Amwal Al Ghad on 19 - 09 - 2021

Travellers to England from Egypt will no longer have to quarantine as the UK announced on Sunday removing Egypt from its so-called COVID red list for travel as of Wednesday, September 22.
"From 4am on Wednesday 22 September Egypt will move to the amber list for entering England. Check what you must do to enter England, Scotland, Wales or Northern Ireland." the newest UK traffic light travel update read.
The latest UK traffic light travel update includes seven countries alongside Egypt: Turkey, Pakistan, the Maldives, Sri Lanka, Oman, Bangladesh, and Kenya.
These countries will be moved to the UK's so-called amber list, a medium-risk category per its anti-coronavirus safety measures, which requires simpler rules for entering the European country. Travellers from this list do not have to quarantine upon arrival into England, however, they are required to take a COVID-19 pre-departure test, before travelling to the UK, and take a COVID-19 test on or before day 2 after arrival in England.
Arrivals from countries on the red list, or the high-risk category, witness strict measures before entering England as they have to undergo an 11-day mandatory quarantine at a hotel approved by the British government and two negative PCR tests before being allowed to check out of the hotel.
On Friday, Britain announced it had decided to simplify rules for international travel to England in a boost to the tourism industry.
"Today's changes mean a simpler, more straightforward system. One with less testing and lower costs, allowing more people to travel, see loved ones or conduct business around the world while providing a boost for the travel industry," British Transport Secretary Grant Shapps said in a statement.
