Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said on Wednesday he and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi agreed to boost bilateral relations, including preparing a Preferential Trade Agreement and holding a Joint Intergovernmental Commission to increase trade. "We agreed to instruct our teams to begin preparing a Preferential Trade Agreement and to hold a Joint Intergovernmental Commission." Zelenskyy said in a post on social media platform X. Zelenskyy said he also discussed with President Sisi the creation of a food logistics hub in Egypt and explored further areas for economic cooperation. The Ukrainian president thanked Egypt for supporting Ukraine's territorial integrity and sovereignty, adding that Cairo "sees our efforts to end the war and is ready to contribute to achieving a just and sustainable peace." The call comes amid Ukraine's efforts to rally broader global backing ahead of a potential second peace summit and as Egypt continues to position itself as a mediator in regional and international conflicts.
