Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi met on Wednesday with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. The meeting was held on the sidelines of the 74th session of the United Nations General Assembly meetings in New York. President El-Sisi congratulated Zelensky on taking the office, expressing appreciation for the stable bilateral relations between the two countries, and the recent growth of those relations, especially in the economic, trade and tourism sectors. Ukraine ranks second in terms of tourist arrivals to Egypt, and Egypt comes first as Ukraine's trading partner in Africa and the Middle East. According to presidential spokesperson Bassam Rady, the Ukrainian president hailed the close ties between the two countries, stressing his country's intention to move forward in efforts to develop bilateral relations with Egypt in various forms.
