UNITED NATIONS, Sept 26, 2018 – Egypt has reaffirmed keenness to bolster ties with South Korea and Switzerland in all domains, the Presidency Spokesman, Ambassador Bassam Radi, said on Wednesday. The fresh reaffirmation was made during separate meetings between President Abdel Fattah El Sisi and the South Korean President Moon Jae-in and Swiss President Alain Berset, on the sideline of the 73rd United Nations General Assembly in New York. During his meeting with President Moon, President Sisi said that Egypt fully appreciated its strong ties with South Korea and the partnership that bound the two countries, Ambassador Radi said. President Sisi also praised the outstanding economic and investment ties between Egypt and South Korea, the presidency spokesman said. President Sisi said that Egypt was looking forward to a further increase in South Korean investments in the mega development projects, which were being implemented by the Cairo government. President Moon said that South Korea valued its distinguished relationships with Egypt, which he described as a pillar of stability and peace in the Middle East. President Moon also hailed President Sisi's great efforts to restore stability to Egypt. "South Korea looks forward to increasing the volume of its investments in Egypt, which is witnessing economic growth and a total development drive," President Moon said. President Sisi held similar talks with Swiss President Berset, who praised the outstanding relationships between his country and Egypt. The Sisi-Berset talks reviewed all means of cementing Egyptian-Swiss ties in all domains with a special focus on the investment, trade and vocational training sectors, Ambassador Radi said. He added that Presidents Sisi and Berset discussed a host of regional and international issues of bilateral interest as well as Egyptian efforts to find political solutions to regional crises. President Sisi also briefed President Berset about his vision for enhancing Swiss co-operation with the member states of the African Union (AU), which Egypt will hold its rotating chairmanship in 2019, Ambassador Radi said. Later on, President Sisi toured the Egyptian Pavilion, which the Cairo government had set at the UN Headquarters to brief the participants of the UNGA meetings about the investment opportunities in Egypt. Later on, President Sisi also met Portugal's President Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa and Italy's Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte.
