Egypt's Talabat is now official food delivery provider for Expo 2020 Dubai
Published in Amwal Al Ghad on 17 - 08 - 2021

Egypt's Talabat, a major food delivery and quick commerce (q-commerce) platform, has been selected as the official food delivery provider for Expo 2020 Dubai.
The company, which is based in Dubai, is showcasing more than 30 brands and 15 different cuisines from around the globe to the world's biggest cultural gathering.
The agreement was signed in the presence of a delegation from Expo 2020; in addition to Onur Elgun, Talabat's vice president for strategy in MENA; Khaled Al Faqsh, chief financial officer of Talabat; Yi-Wei Ang, chief product officer at Talabat; and Hanna Nordell, chief people officer at Talabat.
The agreement will see Talabat catering to both dine-in and delivery customers, with Talabat riders delivering to fixed locations throughout Expo's site using safe, sustainably responsible e-scooters.
Talabat Kitchen, an innovative, sustainable two-storey cloud kitchen, will showcase the future of food delivery experiences, including 10 autonomous delivery vehicles, in addition to a robotic ice-cream confectioner and barista that will wow visitors to Expo 2020.
"Expo2020 will have something for everyone, with food that is central to its multi-cultural experience – visitors will be able to explore exciting global cuisines, without leaving the UAE." Galal Abdellatif, Director of Food and Beverage for Expo 2020 Dubai, said.
"We are thrilled to reveal innovative F&B practices, such as Talabat's cloud kitchen, which is a key changing trend in the food and beverage industry, and adds diversity and value to the visitor experience."
Meanwhile, Tomaso Rodriguez, chief executive of Talabat, said: "With less than 50 days to go until Expo 2020, we cannot wait to showcase the future of food delivery experiences, and support the UAE in welcoming the world to a celebration like no other.
Focused on and optimised for an amazing customer experience, the Talabat Kitchen differs from a traditional cloud kitchen, with its combined dine-in experience to cater to Expo's anticipated millions of visitors.
Visitors to Expo 2020 can order through the talabat app, which is available on Google Play, Huawei AppGallery, or IOS App Store.
Expo 2020 will be one of the first global mega-events to take place since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic. It runs from 1 October 2021 to 31 March 2022, inviting visitors worldwide to join the making of a new world and experience a six-month celebration of human creativity, innovation, progress and culture.
