Published in Amwal Al Ghad on 04 - 12 - 2012

On the sidelines of the ASEA's 16th Annual Conference 2012, Hüseyin Erkan - CEO of the World Federation of Exchanges – said the capital markets' impact is significantly growing during the period from 2001:2010. It has become a key factor in the national economy system to which the capital market belongs, He added.
Erkan further noted that the WFE is targeting taking more care over all the money markets in order to promote more standards for transparency and to advocate those markets as some countries currently facing a series of challenges.
He commended the Egyptian Exchange (EGX) for their markets' efforts to remain operational during the turbulence affecting both countries in 2011.
Furthermore, the CEO of the WFE stated that during the past few years, there is a growing interest in the derivatives business among many money markets which in return increases the importance and necessicity for going for the derivatives trading by the rest of the markets.
The WFE also targets making a number of money market researches seeking to find out methods for upgrading the market systems.
Meanwhile, Erkan pointed out that the capitalization of the EMEA markets (Europe, Middle East and Africa region) have deceased by 5% during the last five years due to certain challenges and circumstances some of the EMEA countries have gone through.
