EgyptAir to operate six flights to Saudi Arabia Wednesday before travel ban

Egypt's flagship carrier EgyptAir is operating six flights to Saudi Arabia on Wednesday as last trips to the kingdom before a temporary suspension of entry from 20 countries, including Egypt, goes into effect later today.
Five flights are scheduled to take off from Cairo International Airport to Jeddah, Riyadh, Medina, and Dammam.
Meanwhile, Saudi's Al-Qassim International Airport will receive a flight from Alexandria's Borg Al-Arab airport.
Three other flights, which were due to travel from Cairo to Jeddah, Riyadh, and Dammam on Wednesday evening, have been cancelled.
On Tuesday, Saudi Arabia suspended entry to the kingdom from 20 countries, except for diplomats, Saudi citizens, and medical practitioners and their families, to help curb the spread of the coronavirus.
The temporary ban, effective from 3 February, includes people arriving from the United Arab Emirates, Germany, the United States, Britain, South Africa, France, Egypt, Lebanon, India, and Pakistan.
In a statement issued late on Tuesday evening, EgyptAir said it will continue to operate flights from Saudi Arabia to Egypt to transport Egyptians and other nationalities during the suspension period.
