Authorities in Russia have the coronavirus crisis under the full control and everything will work out with God's help, President Vladimir Putin said on Sunday, even after the country reported a record daily jump in cases. On Sunday, Russia confirmed 6,060 new cases of the virus, bringing its nationwide toll to 42,853. However, the country's death toll reached 361, remaining relatively low compared with other countries with a similar number of infections. Speaking at a video message to congratulate Christians on the Orthodox Easter, Putin stated that the religious festival would boost Russians' hope and faith, saying the resurrection of Christ was a powerful symbol of rebirth and a reminder that life goes on. The country has had all the necessary resources to do what was needed for people's health and the economy, he added. Putin made his speech while looking relaxed as he sat in front of a fireplace at his out of town Moscow residence. "All levels of power are working in an organised, responsible and timely way," said the Russian leader. "The situation is under full control. All of our society is united in front of the common threat." he added.
