Eng. Hatem Saleh, Minister of Industry and Foreign Trade, and the delegation of World Bank and the International Finance Corporation (IFC), headed by Pierre Guislain- director of the joint World Bank-IFC Investment Climate Department, had discussed the ways of boosting the joint cooperation between the bank and Egyptian government in the coming period; especially in the fields of logistic freight, vocational education and training, granting industrial licenses and the small and medium entrepreneurs. The minister referred that the future cooperation fields between the bank and the government include subsidizing the small and medium entrepreneurs, strengthening the Egyptian industry, boosting the added value to the Egyptian industries, and developing the vocational training system. He added that there are intensive efforts that aim at merging all the concerned authorities of small and medium entrepreneurs. As per the vocational training, Saleh said the necessary procedures are being taken to unify the vocational training system in one main entity; aiming at developing the system for serving the national economy. The minister also emphasized deepening the joint cooperation between the World Bank and the Egyptian's government over developing the logistic transport sector in Egypt, to make use of its distinguished geographical location in the global trade system. Pierre Guislain- director of the joint World Bank-IFC Investment Climate Department, on his part, said the bank is ready to bolster the Egyptian economy, especially in those fields, moreover, improving the procedures and the technical inspection. He also pointed to the joint cooperation between the bank and the Egyptian ministry of transport that aims at developing the logistic transport system. He added that there is a number of initiatives by the bank to support the efforts of the Egyptian government; regarding the development of education and vocational training.
