Finance Ministry announces changes to its leadership
Published in Almasry Alyoum on 17 - 08 - 2011

The Finance Ministry on Wednesday announced a number of changes in its leadership, involving the director of the finance minister's office, and a number of undersecretaries and general managers.
A ministry source told Al-Masry al-Youm that the changes came following a job announcement for leadership positions within the ministry made during the reign of former Finance Minister Samir Radwan.
The source added that the new appointees will be given a specialized course at the Central Administration Management Authority next week in order to prepare them for their new responsibilities.
The source pointed out that Ayman Gowhar was chosen to succeed Mahmoud Hussein as the new director of the Finance Minister's office. Hussein, the head of the finance sector, had been temporarily filling the position for the past three months.
Meanwhile Mahmoud Ragab was chosen to succeed Ayman Gowhar as the new head of the Secretariat. The changes also involved a number of ministry undersecretaries.
The source said that nearly 30 applicants from both within and outside the ministry applied for each job opening.
The source went on to say that new leaders would be appointed at revenue authorities and other ministry agencies.
In related news, a source said that Vice Prime Minister for Economic Affairs and Minister of Finance Hazem al-Beblawy accepted the resignation of Abdel Fattah al-Gabali, the minister advisor on monetary policy, while ex-director of the Finance Minister's office Mumtaz Saeed was reappointed as an advisor to the minister.
